“I like that every page in every book can have a gem on it. It’s probably what I love most about writing–that words can be used in a way that’s like a child playing in a sandpit, rearranging things, swapping them around. They’re the best moments in a day of writing — when an image appears that you didn’t know would be there when you started work in the morning.”
Often when I am writing, where I start is not where I end. I often feel that while I am writing, something takes over and these words and thoughts pour out in ways I didn’t expect. I look at writing as a part of my soul. So when I write, I am letting my soul express itself in ways it otherwise would have been forced to remain in silence.
“In my mind I am eloquent; I can climb intricate scaffolds of words to reach the highest cathedral ceilings and paint my thoughts. But when I open my mouth, it all collapses.”

I don’t know about anyone else, but like the Zombie R, I often feel the same way. I will have the perfect thing to say in my mind, but when I try to say it out loud, it never translates the same. I have often felt like I have the perfect thought in my head, perfect answer to express, perfect opinion to share, message to relay, but when I open my mouth, it is as if someone removed all intelligence from my head. Especially in more pressuring situations.
I think this is why I prefer writing. I am able to take the time and let my fingers do the talking. They seem to do what my mouth never can 🙂
Whew! I have made it to day 50! While I am loving choosing my favorite book quotes, I have to admit it isn’t easy keeping up with it everyday, but I love a good challenge 🙂
For anyone who has read all of the last 50 quotes you may have noticed that some posts have just the quote, while others have a quote followed by my thoughts of the quote. I was wondering what everyone thought. Do you prefer the posts that just have a quote, or do you like the posts with a quote and my thoughts. I would love to get some feedback 🙂
